School of Instruction

The main purpose of the Schools of Instruction is to learn the Masonic Ritual.  University Lodge No. 51 is in Masonic District B and uses the Temple School of Instruction; however, brethren may receive a dispensation from the District Deputy Grand Master to be certified at another school.  The other school most commonly used by our Lodge is the Jenkintown School of Instruction.  Information regarding these two schools can be found below.

School of Instruction at the Philadelphia Masonic Temple

The Temple School of Instruction (for Masonic District B) meets on the Fourth Tuesday of every month (excepting July, August, and December) at 7:00 o’clock p.m. in Oriental Hall of the Masonic Temple.  All elected and appointed officers are expected to attend.  All other brethren are welcome, but not required, to attend.

School of Instruction at the Jenkintown Masonic Hall

The Jenkintown School of Instruction meets every First and Third Tuesday, and every Fourth Monday (excepting July, August, and December) at 7:00 o’clock p.m.  During the month of July, the school meets every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. for exemplifications and focuses on a particular degree and the business of the Lodge.
